Ventrac 4520Y: One machine, multiple mowing solutions

·

Since Ventrac was introduced into the UK by Price Turfcare in 2017, hundreds of clients have migrated to the concept of Ventrac’s one traction unit, the 18kW (25hp) diesel 4520Y, complimenting it with one or more of seven suitable mowers from the range.

These consist of reel and rotary finishing mowers, flails, rough rotaries and a boom mower.

In addition, when a traditional mower will be idle, the Ventrac power unit can be mated to one of the many other attachments for tasks such as land reclamation, seeding, spraying, trenching, stump grinding and leaf blowing, to name a few.

Additionally, its ultra-low centre of gravity and light footprint make it unique, enabling 30 degree slope capability and use in wet areas where traditional machines are unable to go.

Commenting on the Ventrac’s viability, recent advocate, Jim Simmons, course manager at Royal Eastbourne Golf Club explained that “slopes, derived from chalk pits, were previously maintained by four greenkeepers with strimmers. Mowing one slope alone was a four-hour, four-man task; so approximately 24 man-hours. The Ventrac, with its Tough-Cut mower attachment, allows one person to complete this work in about 1.5 hours,” representing a massive 94 percent saving in labour for this one task alone.
