Meet Jack Shellard: Tacit Golf’s new sales representative in Ireland and Northern Ireland

·

From junior champion to sales professional, Jack Shellard brings a lifelong passion for golf and a +2 handicap to his role representing Tacit Golf across Ireland — and the greenkeeping community has given him a warm welcome.

“I started playing golf at the age of four, when my dad bought me my first plastic set of clubs.

“From that moment, my love for the game continued to grow, and I joined Lisburn Golf Club at the age of ten. Much of my childhood was spent at the golf club – whether that meant practicing every afternoon, playing 36 holes in a day, or even taking part in 200-hole putting competitions. Those early years built the foundation for both my passion and competitive mindset.

“I’ve had the privilege of representing Ulster at interprovincial level on multiple occasions, which gave me the opportunity to travel and play some of the finest courses across Ireland. I currently play off a handicap of +2.

“During my time at Lisburn, we had a particularly strong group of juveniles. This led to winning the Fred Daly All-Ireland in 2018 at Tramore Golf Club, followed by another major success in 2024 when we won the All-Ireland Barton Shield at Dun Laoghaire Golf Club.

“Professionally, I’m not new to the golf industry. I previously worked under head professional Conor McKenna at Banbridge Golf Club as an assistant professional for a year. I then made the move into sales, taking on a role as a sales manager with Lucozade.

“The greenkeeping community across Ireland has been incredibly welcoming, and in my first seven months in this role, I’ve built valuable knowledge and strong relationships. I’m looking forward to continuing that development in the months ahead. I firmly believe that my passion for golf, combined with my experience in sales, allows me to provide an informed, efficient and reliable service to golf clubs throughout Ireland.”
