Forest of Arden Golf & Country Club in Warwickshire has announced a new investment of £500,000 to fully renovate all bunkers across its renowned Arden and Aylesford courses.
This transformative project marks the first major phase of investment under new ownership, Bourne Leisure, reinforcing its commitment to elevating course quality and member experience.

The renovation will involve the installation of Capillary Concrete bunker liners – an industry-leading solution used at world-class venues including Le Golf National, Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, and Adare Manor – all recent or future Ryder Cup hosts.
Capillary Concrete liners will deliver a consistent, year-round improvement in bunker quality.

Key benefits include:
•Elimination of sand contamination from stones, clay, and debris.
•Improved drainage to prevent waterlogging and flooding.
•Reduced washdown from bunker faces.
•Minimised maintenance needs, freeing up the greenkeeping team to focus on course conditioning.

Work is scheduled to begin in November, starting with the Arden Course, and continuing throughout the winter months until completion across both courses.
This significant investment follows a £220,000 upgrade earlier this year, which included new course machinery and irrigation enhancements.

In full agreement with the venue, the decision to prioritise bunker renovations was reinforced by member feedback, gathered through membership satisfaction surveys. Both the venue and survey results identified bunker improvements as essential to enhancing play and the overall member experience.

“This is a fantastic moment for Forest of Arden, our members and guests,” said Fraser Liston, director of golf. “The bunker project not only addresses one of the most consistent points of member feedback but also signals our ongoing dedication to elevate the quality of both golf courses at our championship venue.”
The UK distributor for Capillary Concrete is Border Sports.
