SALTEX preview: Dennis, SISIS and Hunter Grinders

·

The Howardson Group will showcase the latest developments from its three specialist turfcare brands – Dennis, SISIS and Hunter Grinders – at SALTEX 2026, with a focus on battery-powered mowing, turf maintenance and precision grinding.

The group will occupy stands E123 and E124 at the NEC Birmingham on 11–12 November, with its teams available to discuss the practical challenges facing grounds professionals and demonstrate the latest equipment.

Dennis Mowers will mark a unique milestone at the show, having exhibited at every edition of SALTEX. As the event celebrates its 80th edition, the British manufacturer will highlight its latest battery-powered professional mowing technology, led by the new ES-34SL lightweight finishing mower.

The ES-34SL has been developed in response to feedback from turf professionals and combines a lightweight design with the precision required for high-quality sports turf presentation. Features include an intermediate grooming brush to stand the grass up ahead of cutting, click height-of-cut adjustment in 0.1mm increments from 9–35mm, and straightforward bottom blade-to-cylinder adjustment.

The machine can cut up to four pitches on a single charge and fully recharge in approximately two hours.

The ES-34SL forms part of the Dennis E-Series, which has been developed from the company’s established petrol-powered machines. The battery-powered range is designed to retain the cut quality and operating characteristics of the existing machines while reducing running costs and maintenance requirements, as well as noise, vibration and emissions at the point of use.

SISIS will use SALTEX to highlight its range of turf preparation and maintenance equipment, with the company responding to a season in which exceptionally hot, dry and unpredictable weather has created challenges for grounds teams and greenkeepers.

Its range covers scarification, aeration, overseeding, brushing, top dressing and surface preparation, with tractor-mounted and pedestrian machinery alongside specialist hand tools.

The SISIS team will be on hand to discuss how maintenance programmes can be adapted to changing ground conditions and the requirements of individual surfaces.

Darren McMahon, Head of Marketing at Howardson Group, said the difficult weather had reinforced the importance of maintaining healthy and resilient turf.

“Every venue is different, and our team will be at SALTEX to discuss those challenges and share practical experience that helps customers get the best possible results from their equipment,” he said.

SISIS will also highlight its specialist machinery for maintaining hybrid and synthetic sports surfaces, with equipment designed to help maintain surface performance, cleanliness and longevity.

Meanwhile, Hunter Grinders will return to SALTEX on stand E123 with its Jupiter ‘All in One’ Grinder and Amazon Bottom Blade Grinder.

The Jupiter combines automatic traverse, indexing and in-feed functions with smooth linear bed rails and self-adjusting bearings, delivering grinding accuracy to within 0.05mm. It can accommodate cylinders up to 1067mm (42in) and offers both spin and relief grinding capabilities.

The Amazon provides a dedicated solution for bottom blade grinding, featuring variable-speed traverse and automatic simultaneous grinding of the front and top faces.

Hunter Grinders’ technical team will be available throughout the exhibition to demonstrate both machines and discuss workshop requirements, training and technical support.

The three brands form part of Howardson Group’s investment in professional turfcare equipment, with the company continuing to develop its product ranges across mowing, turf maintenance and workshop grinding.

Howardson Group Managing Director Megan Oliver said: “SALTEX has always been one of the most important events in the grounds management calendar for Howardson Group. It gives us the opportunity to showcase the continued development of Dennis, SISIS and Hunter Grinders, meet customers from across the industry and better understand the challenges they face.

“Those conversations are invaluable; they help ensure we continue to develop equipment that delivers the quality, reliability and performance grounds professionals depend on.”
