The British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA) has unveiled the five recipients of the 10th annual ICL Continue to Learn Scholarship, a prestigious opportunity that supports greenkeepers in their professional development through access to the industry’s leading education event at BTME.
The 2026 ICL Scholars are:
- Adam Mitchell – Course Manager, Tehidy Park Golf Club

- Darren Foster – Greenkeeper, The Belfry

- Ethan Walker – Greenkeeper, Enville Golf Club

- Gary Morrison – Deputy Course Manager, Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society

- Ryan Gall – Greenkeeper, Loch Lomond Golf Club

Sponsored by BIGGA Premium Partner ICL Turf & Landscape, the scholarship provides five greenkeepers with a comprehensive education package and three nights of accommodation during BTME’s Continue to Learn programme—together worth around £500.
Representing golf clubs from across the UK, this year’s scholars reflect the growing appetite for professional development among BIGGA members. The scholarship was created to remove barriers such as the cost of travel, accommodation and training, ensuring that committed greenkeepers can access high-quality learning experiences, regardless of background or club budget.
“We’re proud to continue our support for the ICL Continue to Learn Scholarship,” said Ed Carter, UK Business Manager at ICL Turf & Landscape. “Education is fundamental to raising standards in the turf industry. By supporting BIGGA members on their development journey, we’re helping to shape the future of greenkeeping.”
Adam Mitchell, Course Manager at Tehidy Park, expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm:
“I’m looking forward to sharpening both my turf and staff management skills. Being part of this scholarship gives me the chance to learn from respected voices in the industry, and to connect with fellow professionals who share the same drive for improvement.”
To qualify, applicants must show an active commitment to their ongoing development through BIGGA’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme. Whether learning in-person, reading Greenkeeper International, or using online resources, thousands of CPD opportunities are available to members year-round.
Now in its tenth year, the ICL Continue to Learn Scholarship continues to foster ambition, expand knowledge, and promote excellence across the greenkeeping profession.
