Designed to fill the gap between traditional outfield and fine turf products, H-Cote™ Mini will be showcased on the Headland Amenity stand at SALTEX 2019.
The Headland team will be on hand to discuss this, together with their full range of innovative turf nutrition, health and management products on stand G050.
Launched to much acclaim earlier this year, H-Cote™ is a new range of mini-granular controlled-release fertilisers, suitable for use in all coarse and close mown turf situations including golf tees and fairways, sports pitches and racecourses. It offers field longevity of 3 to 4 months thanks to the high levels (70-91 per cent) of controlled release nitrogen, producing a gentle and sustained release that minimises the risk of flushing or excessive growth.
The controlled release portion is surrounded by two layers of coating – the first, a thin polymer coating that covers the urea prill and the second, a mix of sulphur and polymer wax to provide protection during transport and application. The dual-coat technology of H-Cote™ allows a high specific nitrogen analysis for each prill, with less risk of nitrogen lock-off.
After application, at rates as low as 15g per m2, moisture penetrates the twin coating and dissolves the urea inside which is then released back through the coating according to temperature and moisture.
Another key focus will be on products to assist in a proactive approach to disease management, as the changes in pesticide legislation continue to have a deepening effect on sports turf quality. Through the formation of a water-resistant, rainfast coating on the plants surface, Headland’s DewCure™ has demonstrated considerable success in reducing surface moisture.
With the activity of damaging foliar diseases like Microdochium nivale and Dollar Spot positively linked with conditions conducive to high leaf moisture, utilising DewCure™ to control dew and guttation fluid can help to suppress disease activity.
