We run all our decision making through this credo and when seeking out a solution for satisfying the health and safety aspects of the wooden steps on our course, GripClad fit the bill.”
From Chris Lewis, course manager: “We have 60 sleeper steps around the course which become a slip hazard, particularly during the winter months. The club decided to research a non-slip material that would solve the problem and make the steps less hazardous for golfers. The material had to be hard wearing as well as aesthetically appealing. GripClad fitted both these attributes. The GripClad was cut to the lengths and widths required by the company before delivery and came with the fixing screws and glue required for fitting. Two members of the greens’ staff took only 90 minutes to fit the GripClad to the first tee steps (12 in total).
“The product has been well received by our members and visitors and the club will now be looking to apply GripClad to the remaining steps around the course.”
