Hinckley Golf Club recently undertook an introductory bunker project working with Durabunker and P Quinn Construction. Having collaborated on a number of projects in recent times, the two companies worked together, with the golf club, to create a construction template for a larger project that has now been commissioned for this autumn.

All shaping and earth works were carried out by P Quinn Construction with Durabunker supplying bunker liner and synthetic edging, whilst also leading the installation of both products, via training from the construction manager.

Adam Castle, course manager at Hinckley GC, commented: “Durabunker staff were exceptional in leading our team through the installation of their bunker liner and synthetic bunker edging. We learnt so much as a team and thoroughly enjoyed the entire process, from start to finish. Pat Quinn produced some beautiful shaping work and the impartial advice on bunker liners and synthetic bunker edging from Durabunker was much appreciated. They were able to offer different options based on the budget we had set aside for the project, which resulted in a sealed bunker system, which really impressed all involved. The feedback from all at the club has been exceptional. We are absolutely delighted with the results and looking forward to working with Durabunker and P Quinn Construction again in October.”

Rhydian Lewis, owner at Durabunker, added: “Many new clients opt to implement small projects in the first instance, before committing to a larger scope of works. We are very familiar with this model and entirely understand the desire golf clubs have to introduce new products onto their golf courses on a small scale initially. This gives members and decision makers an opportunity to assess the products and services we offer, as well as feeling us out as a company without breaking the bank.

“This type of project much more often than not leads to larger phase works, over a number of years, which is exactly what is now unfolding at Hinckley GC. We look forward to working with Adam and his team, as well as P Quinn Construction, again in October. I’m sure the combination will produce some more low maintenance, high quality bunkers that the golf club will be proud of.”
