May 2020 is eagerly awaited as the official opening date of Scotland’s newest links course at Dumbarnie, Fife, but a few lucky souls are gaining sneak previews.
The word on the street is that this is going to be a very special golf course. Praise is being heaped on the shaping, the strategy, the quality of fine grass coverage and as EcoBunker has noticed, the bunkers have also been attracting fans.
“This is going to be one hell of a golf course. The bunkers actually look real unless you look really close. Thought the shapes and build quality were absolutely first class,” said James Bledge, course manager from Royal Cinque Ports.
Robin Hiseman, the architect behind the new JCB course went further: “I recently saw the EcoBunkers at the new Dumbarnie Links, in Fife, and thought they were outstanding. It was not possible to tell them apart from a natural revet, unless you were within arms’ length. It is a technology that is very welcome in my opinion and very likely to grow in popularity.’
EcoBunker built all 75 pot bunkers in quick time during the summer of 2018. Richard Allen, inventor of EcoBunker’s advanced revetting system responded: “Super feedback like this, from highly respected members of the golfing community, is huge for our team. This proves we have the capability to deliver a full 18-hole bunker construction project, on time, within budget and to the highest quality. The coming winter is looking very busy.”
